Daw Thazin Aung

Daw Thazin Aung is currently an Executive Director the Group as well as Chairman of SBU Board member for IGE Energy Company Limited since in the mid of  2018.  A member of IGE Group since 2000, Daw Thazin Aung has gained wide-ranging experience through a series of positions. She started out at as the Assistant Manager for the Import Procurement Department in 2002, where she was responsible for meeting tender requirements as well as procurement strategy and budgets. She was shortly promoted to Deputy General Manager, MRT Co., Ltd.  in 2003, in charge of managing the operation of IGE’s timber trading company to meet its business goals. She then returned to the Import Procurement Department as a Senior Deputy General Manager in 2005 before transferring to one of IGE’s newest businesses, United National Oil and Gas Trading Co., Ltd. as Managing Director in 2008. From 2010 to 2012, Daw Thazin Aung took on a second role as Managing Director of Premium Petrol Co., Ltd. Then, in 2013, she transferred back to IGE to act as Director of Operations.

In 2014, She then spent one year as Managing Director of Crete Master Co., Ltd., IGE Group’s ready-mixed concrete supply business, before transferring back to IGE to take up the role of Director of the Oversight Unit followed by a role as Executive Director and Member of the Group Budget & Planning Committee in 2015. Before joining IGE, Daw Thazin Aung worked for Daewoo Garment Industry as Assistant Manager, Business Department.

Daw Thazin Aung holds a BA, Honors, in English from Yangon University as well as a Master of Business Administration from Yangon Institute of Economics. She has completed the Director Certification Program (DCP) by Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) in year 2017.
